Postcard Collecting

A few months before we first started working on the Natalie Holden letters, I had just begun collecting vintage postcards.

Most of them are from the Outer Banks, since I love it so much there. But I’ve also been collecting postcards from other places that fascinate me.

Some of the postcards are nearly 100 years old, and it’s interesting to read personal correspondence from that long ago. Though, I must admit that sometimes I feel like I’m snooping.

I’m particularly fond of postcards from the 30s and 40s, and am seeking out more of them from that era to add to my growing collection.

Do you enjoy collecting postcards (or anything else)?

If so, what’s your favorite? Did you get it during a special trip that you’ll always remember?

Here’s one of my favorite postcards from a place we’re researching for an upcoming mail club issue:

That’s all for today. I hope you have a good one.

All the best,
Ryan

P.S. - We’re up to 30 members for the new mail club, and mailed out Issue #1 today :)
